Restyled Denim

Tuesday, July 10, 2012

Peplum: H&M ($15) (similar)
Buffalo by David Bitton Denim: Loehmann's (similar here)
Heels: Marshalls (also here)
Necklace: Target ($7)

These jeans were my first "designer" jeans ever.
I was elated when I left the store with these and they quickly became my favorite jeans. After about 8 years, I still held onto them even though they weren't my style anymore. I decided to restyle the flared baggy jeans into sleek skinny jeans. I simply sewed the inside hem in a few inches, to be the exact fit I wanted, then trimmed the newly sewn hem. Sadly, I didn't take a before picture, so just imagine baggy flared Laguna Beach-esque jeans.
I dressed them up a bit with this gorgeous peplum (on clearance), my favorite nude studded heels, and a lovely agate necklace. Perfect outfit for a coffee date with my husband!

Blush Skirt

Thursday, June 28, 2012

Tank: Marshalls
Lace Skirt: Forever 21 (only $18!)
Pumps: Steve Madden
Bracelet: Kohls
Sunnies: Tjmaxx (another cute style here)

This blush skirt has such beautiful detailing, so I decided to keep the rest of my outfit simple to showcase the skirt. I added some blush peep-toe heels, a cream sweater tank, cat-eye sunnies and my Burberry tote to tie in all the colors. It was the perfect feminine and chic outfit for a pretty summer day.

Metallic Gold Belt

Tuesday, June 5, 2012

Blouse: Styles ($10) (similar here)
Necklace: Target ($10) (love this one here)
Belt: Thrifted ($1)
Paige Jeans & Mia Wedges: Marshalls
Burberry Tote: here

I felt so ladylike in this outfit. I think the belted blouse just oozes glamour; it gave a peplum effect which I adored. The gold belt was added last minute and really completed this look. The metallic gold belt plays up the beautiful turquoise statement necklace and creates a feminine silhouette with the cinching of the waist. The accessories really take the cake in this chic everyday look.

Thank you to everyone for the recent comments, follows, and sweet emails.
I'm beyond encouraged by each and every one!
Thank you

Floppy Hat

Hat:Ross ($6!) similar style here
Sweater: H&M
Blazer: Nordstrom (similar style here)
Burberry Tote: Bloomingdales
Paige Jeans: Nordstrom Rack (similar style here)
Dani Black Boots: Marshalls (here)
Jewelry: Target & Macy's

I had a class field trip to the Asian Art Museum in the city today and figured it was the perfect day to wear this lovely hat! I had been looking for a floppy hat this season and they were either too expensive or too massive; I came across this beauty at Ross and couldn't resist the leopard accent and the $6 price tag. It was definitely worth the wait :)
