Leopard & Chambray

Tuesday, December 3, 2013

Chambray: Plato's Closet ($6)
Current/Elliott Jeans: Plato's Closet
Booties: Target ($20)
Oryany Bag: TJMaxx

I have finally found a chambray shirt!
I've been wanting one for forever, and discovered the perfect one while shopping at, you guessed it, Plato's Closet! It was only $6 and I've already made it a staple in my closet. I haven't paired denim and denim with it yet, so I decided printed jeans were the way to go. And since leopard is always one of my favorite prints, this outfit came together in a matter of seconds!

Did anyone go black friday shopping?
I made plans with my mom, but we both decided we were too full from Thanksgiving and tired to go. We went mid-day on Friday and I was amazed by Target's deals. Forget big screen TVs and fancy headphones! They had 40% off all shoes, clothing, and accessories. I picked up these boots that are perfect for rainy days or dressing up simple outfits. I love that the heel isn't too tall and that the fabric used won't get ruined if it rains. Definitely worth the $20 price tag!

Hope you all enjoyed your holiday and had many things to be thankful for!
Thank you so much for reading and don't forget to enter my giveaway for a pair of Cushe boots.

Cushe Boots

Manuka Lite Desert Boots - c/o Cushe Footwear
Jacket - Thrifted/DIY
Neon Knit - H&M
Joe's Jeans - ThredUp ($16)

I love being outdoors and enjoying sunset walks with my husband. The one thing I don't love is trying to find comfortable shoes that are still fashionable. I mean, I could wear running shoes, but I don't like to wear them when I'm not wearing work out clothing. When I found out about Cushe Footwear, I felt like I hit the mother load! They had so many stylish shoes to choose from, my favorite was the pair I ended up picking out- The Manuka Lite Desert. They're super light-weight and constructed beautifully. The sole is thick so I don't feel rocks or anything through the bottom, which tends to be the case with stylish walking shoes. And HELLO, they're seriously so cute! They had a few colors to choose from for this style of shoe; I had such a hard time deciding between the wine and charcoal, but I'm glad I picked the charcoal!  Another fun bonus was the inside is covered in neon flowers.

I decided to play up the colors in the shoe by wearing a neon knit, dark jeans, and a jackets that I embellished with tribal fabric. The jacket is actually a recent DIY, so let me know if you're interested in me posting a tutorial. Stay tuned for a chance to win a pair of these amazing shoes!
They're the perfect comfy shoe for winter adventures.

Thank you so much for reading!

* another important component to sunset walks would be a delicious warm drink.
My drink of choice was a decaf latte. Yum!

Chevron Moto Jacket

Free People Jacket- c/o Marshalls
AG Blouse-Plato's Closet ($10)
Citizens of Humanity Jeans-Plato's Closet ($20)
Booties- Plato's Closet
Bag-Thrifted

A few months back I spotted this jacket through a boutique's Instagram. I fell for this jacket...hard! I was trying to justify the hefty price tag, but I just could bring my self to spend over $150 on a jacket. I loved everything about it though! I'm already crazy about moto-style jackets, the fit on this one, and the chevron pattern made it so unique. On a recent Marshalls trip, I spotted it's familiar chevron sleeve and grabbed it quickly. It was the only one and happened to be in my size! It was fashion fate and I didn't think twice about taking it home with me.
I wore a very loose chiffon blouse that completely concealed my bump. Crazy! These jeans photographed so badly, they're really an army green with hints of grey in them. It's hard to tell, but you get the idea!

I've been posting little life updates on Instagram lately.

Antique Printed Blouse

Wednesday, October 30, 2013

Floral Blouse: c/o Marshalls
Jeans: Plato's Closet
Booties: Plato's Closet ($12)
Zara Jacket
Chanel Bag: c/o Fashion-a-holic

One decorating item I have always loved is antique, floral-printed ceramic vases. Growing up in a very Italian home, our house was filled with ones from my grandparents' trips to Italy or ones brought to America when they came. It's a print that is so much more than just that; it's almost a nod to my heritage and reminds me of my papa. When I found this blouse at Marshalls, my heart skipped a beat. It was almost the exact print of a vase my papa had at his winery, and is now in my parents' kitchen. I knew this blouse would be a quick favorite.
Also, can you see my newest (quickly growing) addition to my outfits? Holy smokes, right?! I bet you're thinking, "didn't she just announce she's having a baby?!" About a week ago I noticed my little bump grew almost overnight. I'm loving every second of it! Espcially because I didn't have an awkward phase, just from my usual self to pregnant- no complaints over here! It's a beautiful reminder that in almost 6 months we will have the biggest blessing of our lives.

Florals and Lace

Blouse: c/o Marshalls
Skirt: Forever 21
Heels: Steve Madden
Necklace: Forever 21

I’ve been drawn to bright prints that really make a statement- so when I saw this blouse at Marshalls I was sold. Even more sold when I saw its clearance price (only $8). The watercolor print paired with a beautiful peplum silhouette made this blouse a real showstopper. I kept the rest of the outfit keeping with similar colors from the blouse. The purple/blue color really stood out to me, so I decided a delicate navy skirt was not only the perfect color, but also a nice textural contrast from the top.

Bohemian Dress

Thursday, August 29, 2013

River Island Dress: ASOS
Vintage Clutch: Thrifted
Sandals: Plato's Closet
Jewelry: TJMaxx/Target/Jcpenny

This dress is the epitome of bohemian chic- a flattering cut with so many vibrant fabric details that pop against the white dress. I piled on the accessories, while still keeping it neutral. It’s such a breezy dress that makes a great bikini cover-up or can be dressed up (like pictured) for a date night look.

I found this dress from Roamans that is perfect for fall, while still keeping with the bohemian chic vibeIt’s a great transitional piece that can seamlessly carry over into the upcoming seasons. What’s not to love?!

Topshop Shirt: Thrifted ($3.99)
Floral Skirt: Plato's Closet ($1)
Bag: Thrifted ($4.99)
Madden Girl Sandals: Thrifted

There are some outfits that you wear that give you a happiness boost- this is one of them!
I went to Plato's Closet and they happened to have tons of skirts on clearance, all only a dollar. For some reason skirts tend to look way cuter when the price tag is only a dollar! I fell in love with the vibrant print so I paired it with neutrals to really showcase the bright, beautiful skirt.
Also, this outfit is entirely thrifted/secondhand. Booya!
