Velvet Footwear Just in Time for Fall

Thursday, October 12, 2017

Fall is officially here and I couldn't be more excited about it. After putting away my summer sandals and heels, I noticed I was seriously lacking in the footwear department, giving me the perfect excuse to browse the selection at my nearest Marshalls. I picked up two adorable pairs that are great for the cooler weather autumn brings. There is one trend for footwear that I'm crazy about this season - velvet! Velvet footwear can be dressed up or down, offering texture and flare to any outfit.

Suns Out, Summer Style Is In

Saturday, July 8, 2017

Whenever I travel my one nemesis is the 50lb weight limit. I swear it gets me every time! During my packing process I continue to edit down my items until I’m left with a capsule collection for my trip. This makes it easier to mix and match, especially because on vacation no time should be wasted deciding what to wear.

Keeping a specific color scheme in mind during your packing process gives you the freedom to mix and match items in your suitcase. With that being said, I do have a list of summer must-haves that always make their way into my travel bag.

White button-up
This is a staple for travel! Not only does it pair with virtually anything, but also it gives a polished look without compromising comfort. I scored this sleeveless button-up on the sale rack for $20 compare at $48. I couldn’t resist that button detailing on the back. Too cute!

Denim cutoffs
However you choose them- light washed, distressed, or in my case, embroidered – denim cutoffs always make their way into my travel bag. If these aren’t already on your summer checklist, they need to be! The pair had such intricate floral embroidery on the denim fabric, leaving me surprised to see the $39.99 price tag right next to the original designer tag of $88. Yes, please!

Comfy sandals
You might have varying plans for your travel, socomfortable sandals are always great to have in your suitcase. Imported from Italy, this chic, nude slide was the perfect shoe to add to my travel wardrobe. Plus the $24.99 price tag was very hard to refuse.

Pop of color
Don’t be afraid to add some bright colors to your look. Whether it’s a bright dress or simple jeans- a little color can go a long way! I picked up this clutch in my favorite hues not only for the $16.99 price tag, but because that textured raffia just screamed summer.

Marshalls has simplified my summer packing thanks to their on-trend items and affordable prices. I always know I’ll find exactly what I’m looking for and more!

Citizens of Humanity flares & Schutz heels - c/o Marshalls
Gorjana necklace c/o
Top - Target

During a recent trip to Target, one that we're all familiar with - you know, "the one where you go for detergent and end up leaving with a cart full of random items, $150 less in your bank account and no detergent" kinda shopping trip, I spotted this fun tropical blouse from the Who What Wear collection. I don't normally find items I love at Target, but I'm seriously obsessed with this blouse. The tiered chiffon layers with the bright floral print made this piece a quick favorite. Plus it's hard to resist a blouse that only cost $24.99, especially when you can claim you just bought extra goldfish crackers and *that's* why your Target trip cost extra.

When I'm out shopping nothing beats finding a gorgeous item, expecting a hefty price tag and finding an affordable one instead? I'm obsessing over this floral maxi and even more obsessed with the fact that it only cost $16.99 - *that* is a shopping win!
