I've always known about the little black dress, but no one ever mentions the little black romper. While  the LBD is practical for events, the LBR (little black romper) is a fresh and unexpected take on a classic. Multiple times last summer, I found myself in a crunch to get ready and wishing I had a simple romper to dress up or down. 

On a recent Marshalls trip, I spotted this beauty waiting on the rack for me. I didn't even need to try it on- I just knew it was the romper of my dreams! It's by one of my favorite designers (Rory Beca) that always makes pieces with the perfect silhouette, in beautiful flowy fabrics. What's not to love? The elastic waistband is hidden, so the romper has the appearance of a two piece set and the high neckline makes it practical for everyday. I decided to dress it up for a date in the city with these cute nude platforms by Schutz. Another surprising Marshalls find - under $75!
