If someone had told me that I would be wearing a crop top after I had Uriah, I would have laughed in their face. Crop tops are totally intimidating! Especially after having a baby, getting older, and having a crazy addiction to baguettes. Seriously, it's bad. I have to have so much self control around bread. I tried on this designer crop top by Ronny Kobo on at Marshalls, fell in love, and took it home immediately. I got a larger size than I normally would, because I liked the extra length and the fit of the bigger size. But I will admit, it sat in my closet for quite some time until I worked up enough courage to wear it. I tried it on with so many outfits and always chickened out. After finding these slim fit, high-waist Paige jeans on clearance at Marshalls, I decided these would be the perfect pair for the blouse- not too much midriff and a sleek silhouette.
If you're looking to try this trend, head to Marshalls to check out their selection. I picked out this top in the woman's section, but The Cube has amazing crop tops for a smaller price tag. This way you can try the trend without investing too much :)
Here are a few ways to bring crop tops into your wardrobe
Layered Over- try pairing it with a longer layer underneath. You can still have the cropped silhouette and won't have to worry about the bare midriff. This is great for transitioning into cooler months!
Faux Crop- Not wanting to purchase a crop top that you may never wear? Try tying up a blouse like I did in this post for a faux crop. Best part? You can choose the length you want!
High-Waisted - My favorite way to incorporate crop tops- with a high-waisted bottom. I'm not ready to have my whole stomach out!
Overalls - Overalls are making their way back and they look killer when paired with a crop top! You have the sides of your midriff peaking out and don't have to worry about too much skin showing.
What are some ways you would wear a crop top?
