If you come over to my home, you will always find a candle burning. I like to switch it up when the seasons change. Usually I prefer coconut or bright scents for summer, but lately I've been burning pumpkin or spiced candles. We're not officially in fall, but the crisp mornings have me craving my favorite season.
My home smelt like autumn, but my decor didn't quite match. Since my home was filled with a delicious pumpkin pie scent, I figured I should add some pumpkins to my tablescape. I found so many to chose from and opted for white ones ($9.99 compare $24) because they would be seamless with my decor. But then I realized I couldn't have pumpkins on bare table, it needed another layer or texture. I turned to corner and my jaw dropped to the ground! The most incredible glittered macrame runner for...wait for it..$22. It was a no-brainer! I was so surprised to see this here, especially since I have an almost identical one in my online cart at Anthropologie for five times the price of this one.
Once I realized I had my fall tablescape, I couldn't just leave with that. I felt inspired to add a few more cozy items to my home decor. Throw blankets are my go-to for a quick pop of color and another element to add to my living room. I made a pit top on my to the blankets because I spotted a beautiful cognac leather basket that was the perfect size for extra pillows and throws. Is there anything more welcoming than a basket of pretty blankets and fluffy pillows? Probably not! With a full cart and big plans for my home decor, I made my way to the checkout, but not before a quick stop to the women's department. Within seconds I beeline to a burnt orange kimono with a subtle embroidered floral print throughout (only $14.99 compared at $68). I was slowly seeing all the items in my cart build off of each other and loved the warm colors scheme. Just when I think I'm finished, at the checkout nonetheless, I see a soft colored wreath behind the counter. Since when does Marshalls sell wreaths?! So surprising and so irresistible -- I'll take it!
What started out as a simple trip for pumpkins turned into a complete home refresh for fall. Normally I wouldn't be able to have a shopping trip like this because it would cost a fortune, but since everything is so affordable at Marshalls, I was able to give my home a cozy touch for under $200. That's a win in my book!
