With the days getting warmer and brighter colors making their way into my closet, white pants are a must for spring/summer fashion. While I'm a firm believer in wearing white denim year-round, others like to wait until spring to break them out -- so now is the time! I scored this amazing pair at Marshalls; not only is the fit incredible, but it has an amazing zippered detailing that I couldn't resist. Another thing I couldn't resist was the price - $49.99 for designer denim (Theory for AG). I was so surprised to find these jeans hanging on the rack and couldn't wait to try them on. With the money I saved on jeans, I picked up this embroidered chambray blouse by Lovers + Friends. It's lightweight fabric will be perfect for hot summer days and I'm crazy about the floral stitching.

I've chatted with friends about how white denim can be intimidating to try. And I will admit, I always have a harder time finding white denim meets all my criteria for the perfect pair. But these four pointers really help me in scoring the perfect pair of white jeans.

Here's what I look for:
1. Thick denim - I look for thicker denim for a few reasons. First, it sucks you in. Who doesn't like that? The second reason is they tend to be not as sheer as a thinner pair. If I can see the pockets through the jeans I won't even try them on!
2. Details - Whether it's a distressed leg or zippered leg, look for details that will give your white jeans a little extra flair.
3. Fit - Depending on the style (cropped, flare, ankle) of jeans your trying, never underestimate the power of getting them tailored to fit you perfectly. It only costs a few dollars and makes a huge difference. Not wanting to spend any extra? Try a pair with a little elastic in the fabric. These tend to be snug in the parts you want and you can always cut the hem to the spot you want. Raw edges are totally in right now!
4. Brand - I know that sounds totally vain, but hear me out! Designer jeans tend to fit better, in my opinion, than the cheaper pairs you can get at Forever 21 or Target. I know what you're thinking, "no way am I spending $150 on jeans!" and I totally agree! The pair I'm wearing today had an original price tag of $170, but I was able to score these on-trend, designer jeans for under $50 thanks to Marshalls.

I always get emails about where I get my jeans and almost every.single.pair is from Marshalls! Designer, distressed, wax-coated, printed, cropped..you name it --Marshalls is my denim wonderland.
