I was challenged by Marshalls to plan a fun night in. Initially I was thinking of coffee with Nick, but that's something we already to and I wanted to do something different. I went to Marshalls with the plan to buy cozy blankets and pillows for a movie night, but then I discovered a bunch of amazing wooden serving trays and platters. They were such amazing quality and one in particular caught my eye- a thick, raw wood platter with a leather handle. I totally thought it was going to cost a fortune, but when I flipped it over I discovered it was only $14.99. My idea for a movie night in turned into girls night out (well technically in, but you know what I mean!). I thought I would create an amazing charcuterie board and add some yummy treats found in the snack aisle. And yes, there's a snack aisle at Marshalls, and yes, it's awesome. Some of them didn't make it home because Uriah and I ate them while shopping -- we needed fuel! With the money I saved on serving trays and snacks, I picked up some fancy stemless glasses. The festive gold dipped bottom will be perfect for the holidays and dresses up the simplest drink! And at only $19.99 these glasses were hardly a splurge! So I narrowed my list down of what I needed: serving platters, check! pretty glasses, check! yummy snacks, check! I realized I needed some plates for everyone to put food on and found the perfect set of mini olive printed plates for only $7.99. Not only are they the perfect size, but they matched so well with everything else I had in my cart. We made our way to the register and spotted some gold foiled printed napkins to finish the dinner party accessories and tie in all the colors. I was so excited to enjoy a fun night with a few girlfriends- it was full of great conversation, lots of laughs, delicious food, and of course, a stylish spread that didn't break the bank!
