All About Investments

I'm talking all about investment pieces and why they don't have to cost a pretty penny, even if you're reaching for that designer name

This year/winter, I've cut back on regular shopping and I'm all about buying key pieces in my closet: items that can transition into different seasons and that I will be able to wear for years. With that being said, it's almost cost the same amount as it would shopping normally! I've bought significantly less, but I've purchased investment pieces - my first real leather jacket, a few pairs of nice shoes, suede jacket...you get the picture ;) The main reason we skip (at least for me) is that we think investment items come with a hefty price tag? Surprise-- they don't!
Case in point: this amazing, buttery soft, lambskin wrap skirt by one of my favorite designers- Joie. This would have cost a pretty penny and then some! The original tags had it listed for $595 and as much as I loved it, I could never spend that on a skirt. Investment piece or not! Thankfully it had a second tag, the Marshalls tag! It had been clearanced multiple times to $49.99 -- let that sink in for a moment! $50 is the price of a skirt that might fall apart in years, not a high-quality and name brand item that you will wear for years on end.
Now when you're shopping for investment pieces, make Marshalls your first stop, because you just never know what surprise you will find waiting for you on the rack.

Thank you for reading!
