Denim skirts are back!
I'm sharing a few tips on fresh ways to style your denim skirts.

Denim Skirt - Joe's

The denim skirt is back! I know it's been "trending" for a while, but I couldn't separate the denim skirts I wore in jr. high and high school from what they are today. I finally found one that was perfect, totally distressed (which I love) and an easy way to re-wear a past favorite. I added a knit tank sweater that I scored at Marshalls in the Cube for less than $15; I'm totally obsessed with this top and I've wore it more times than I can admit! I wanted to add a sleek shoe, so I opted for these ankle straps with a snakeskin detail (also scored from Marshalls). I know denim skirts can be tricky to style (at least for me it was), so I added a few of my tips for skirt stylin'

Tips for wearing denim skirts
-Look for a longer length. If you're wanting a sleek look, try a pencil skirt like the one I have on above. If you want to go short, skip the raw hemline, especially if you're wanting this style to be different than skirts you wore years ago.
-Add a structured piece. A vest or blazer can go a long way in this outfit! When I wear playful items, I always like to add a structured shirt or jacket to bring my outfit to the next level.
-Try on different styles- not all denim skirts are alike! If you're getting your feet wet with this trend, I would totally try a midi with the center buttons. It identical to the skirt I'm wearing here, just denim instead of corduroy!
-Don't be intimidated!! I'm sure the last time you wore denim skirts, you were wearing Ugg boots with them, loving Laguna Beach, and getting rides from your mom to school-- you have come a long way from that and it's time to try a more sophisticated denim skirt look!
