When DailyBuzz Style sent out the March 9x9, I was beyond excited because I saw the topic was neon and neutrals. Neon has been one of my favorite trends this season; whether it's the main component of an outfit or an accent, I absolutely adore it! My last post featured highlighter jeans used as the main part of my outfit and I added neutrals to soften it.
I decided I needed a neon accented look. I've been inspired by all the pretty neon clutches and I didn't have many neon items, so I figured a DIY project was in order.
DIY Neon Clutch
Supplies:
Spray paint
Painter's tape
Clutch bag (I used a pleated clutch, but you can use whatever your heart desires!)
Slide the tape (sticky side up) under each flap
Then fold over and crease on each fold
Repeat until the bag is to your desired pattern.
Spray even light mists until covered
T
est a little piece to make sure it's dry before you peel the tape off.
Done! A simple way to transform an ordinary clutch with a touch of neon.
Neon Accent Top: Forever 21
Paige Jeans: Plato's
Pumps: Steve Madden
Clutch: Thrifted and Restyled (inspired by this)
Bracelet: DIY
My DIY bracelet is a brooch and bathing suit strap! Sneaky :)
I love the neon accents paired with soft neutrals because the bright color really pops! Instead of being softened like the first outfit, your eye is drawn to the fluorescent shades. It's a fun look that, in my opinion, is perfect for any season. I can't wait to add some more neon into my wardrobe!
Thank you for reading!
